Abbie is having a bad day - forced to drive 100's of miles for a meeting no one is interested in, she at first doesn't notice when time starts replaying itself.
When she gets home, she witnesses her neighbour melting into a wall, and thinks she has finally flipped.
Ben, a young boy's whose mother and home have 'vanished overnight', adopts her... as do a group of tiny fairies.
The 'Switchers' have escaped from prison, with their ability to move themselves and 'things' between dimensions. Worlds where arachnids are ascendant, or where dinosaurs never died out... fairy stories and myths... even humans moved into other worlds - or squashed flat, suddenly,under a giant building.

Two years later, the newly qualified Doctor Owen Jones joins the secure mental facility where Emily is housed. Young, inexperienced and eager to prove himself, he tries to unravel the cause of her violence. As he works long hours in the grim, Victorian institute, his own sanity begins to crumble as Emily plays with his mind and sows seeds of distrust against his co-workers. Owen's girlfriend tries to help as his paranoia builds... but imagine the unthinkable. What if Emily is not insane, and her parents were, in fact, monsters? What if more of these monsters exist, living within the bodies of Owen's colleagues? Would he then make the choice to annihilate them, as Emily did before him?
